Some things you might not know about Pilar

Pilar de la Horadada is the most southerly town of Valencia Region and one of the “youngest” in the sense that it was segregated from Orihuela on 30th of July 1986. It is a beautiful area of coast and inland hilly countryside originally inhabited by Iberians, then Romans who built the Via Cadiz in the South and Tarragona in the North.

Because of the raids by Berber pirates watch towers were constructed along Spain’s coastlines and a principle one that is still evident is the Torre de la Horadada. It is near San Javier (Murcia) airport.

Pilar enjoys an excellent climate and a diverse environment with many dazzling beaches flying European Blue Flag and Quality flag denoting clean sands and sea, with excellent facilities and amenities.
